Three years in, the International Health Partnership (IHP+) now includes 49 partners, including 24 developing countries, a wide range of development agencies and active civil society engagement at global and country levels. This 3rd annual IHP+ country teams meeting is an important opportunity for all partners to hear from countries about their experiences around IHP+ work, to share lessons where things are on track and to address issues where progress is slow.

Meeting objectives
The meeting objectives were to review achievements and challenges with putting the Paris Declaration principles on aid effectiveness into practice in the health sector, and define ways to overcome challenges and adapt directions if needed.

Specifically, over the course of the two-day meeting, participants reviewed:

  • joint assessment of national health strategies, and how development partners align around strategy development, financing, implementation and monitoring;
  • harmonizing fiduciary frameworks;
  • adhering to commitments made in Global and Country Compacts.

Participation
The majority of participants will be country level representatives from government, development partners and civil society. Senior representatives from signatory development agencies are also expected. There will be approximately 180 participants.

Translation
The meeting was in English and French.
