CIVIL SOCIETY

The IHP+ recognizes that Civil Society organisations play a critical role in facilitating the engagement of stakeholders in the IHP+ process.

Civil Society Health Policy Action Fund: Launched by IHP+ in 2010, the Civil Society Health Policy Action Fund aims to support southern civil society organizations, networks and coalitions to become more effectively engaged in national health policy processes. Through the Fund, grants went to support 21 countries over a one-year period: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, and Zambia.

Statement of the Nigeria Parliamentary Stakeholder Dialogue: The Nigerian Parliament has launched a Parliament and Civil Society Partnership on aid effectiveness and results. Following a policy dialogue, and an aid flow study by the NGO CHESTRAD, as well as extensive review of other relevant reports, seven recommendations were made on ways to improve aid effectiveness and mutual accountability. The content from the feedback note was incorporated into the FINAL CSO Engagement Note.
