Ministers of Finance and Health from around 40 African countries met in Tunis 4-5 July, together with parliamentarians, civil society and many health professionals.  The conference discussed ways to mobilise domestic resources for health, and to achieve greater accountability and value for money in delivering health services. It culminated in a Tunis Declaration, recommending intensified collaboration to achieve universal health coverage and accelerate progress towards the MDGs.
