Liberia signs global compact
IHP+ welcomes Liberia as a signatory
Liberia signed the IHP+ global compact on 13 April 2016. Dr. Bernice Dahn, Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Liberia signed the compact in Washington DC, in the presence of Dr Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization and Dr Tim Evans, Senior Director for the Health, Nutrition and Population Global Practice, at the World Bank Group.
During the signing ceremony, Dr Dahn said, "This is a milestone move for us in Liberia."
The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare wishes to align donor support with the priorities of the National Health Strategic Plan, and achieve efficiency gains by minimizing duplication of funding and parallel implementation arrangements. A key part of this new approach is to put into practice the IHP+ principles in the health sector.
IHP+ warmly welcomes Liberia to the partnership, and looks forward to the collaboration.
